"HOME" is a Tony Award-nominated play written by acclaimed playwright, screenwriter and actor, and Morgan State University Alumnus (1968), Samm-Art Williams.  The play follows the coming of age of Cephus Miles as he handles the consequences -- and rewards-- of his decisions and actions.

A lyrically-poetic story, Home tells the prodigal-son tale of Cephus, an orphan from North  Carolina who inherits a small farm as a young man. Heartbreaking hurdles and setbacks "bungle" Cephus's road to happiness, but his chipper perseverance enables him to maintain a positive attitude through breakups, addiction, and unemployment.

This Morgan State University Sesquicentennial production, directed by Cheryl J. Williams, defines the amazement of fulfilling love and happiness when coming home!

Home originally premiered in 1979, and garnered playwright Samm-Art Williams a 1980 Broadway Tony Award nomination for Best Play and an NAACP Image Award.
